The old adage claims "a picture is worth thousand words." But what happens when you need a thousand more? Since our memories can be fleeting, we often supplement those images to remind us of their exact context. In our newest iOS update, we've ensured that those important details don't get left behind so you can always hold on to the full story, and added a new feature to keep you up-to-date on everything Photomyne.

Scan the back of a photo

You painstakingly hand-wrote the details of each photo on the back before sliding them into place in an album or a box. Don't you deserve to save those notes along with the photos themselves? Now you can from within the Photomyne app.

To add a back-of-photo scan, select either the icon in the top right or go to the three-dots menu in the bottom right. From there, you can either select 'Scan the back of this photo', or go to 'Edit photo details' and select 'Scan the back'. Once you've scanned a photo, you'll have the option to scan the back-side of it too by either selecting the icon at the top of your screen, or from within the three-dots menu at the bottom right. Both the image and the notes will then be saved together in your album. Just look for that same icon when browsing your album to see which photos have a back-of-the-photo scan too.

Select the icon under 'Scan the back' to take a picture of the text on the back of the photo. Once scanned, select the image under 'View' to see the notes. Voice notes for individual photos

If you feel the details written on the back of the photo are still not enough to convey the photo's full story, it's time to be your own storyteller. You can now record and add voice memos to individual photos so every detail can't be forgotten.

To add a voice note, first select a photo and go to Edit photo details via the three-dots icon. Tap the microphone icon in the bottom left corner and your phone will start recording. You'll have one minute of recording time to say as much or as little as you'd like about the photo.

Not happy with your recording? That's okay. Just tap the trash can icon and try again. Take as many attempts as you need.

Who's in the photo? Where did it take place? Did anything notable happen that you can't see in the photo? Let your words flow and paint the perfect picture around your memories. They'll be there when you come back.
