Yes, we get it. We only have two hands. And unless you are scanning with the aid of another person, it can be tricky to hold a photograph (or a photo slide or a camera film strip) and manage to capture the image all at the same time.

That's precisely why Photomyne has implemented the option to activate voice control and use nothing but saying a word to capture scans. Scan photos without touching the phone in the process. This prevents movement that can detract from photo quality. All it takes is a simple command of 'Go!' and the app will scan and save the result safely in your album.

How to activate voice control in the app

(The following instructions apply to the photo scan app by Photomyne, as well as to SlideScan and FilmBox).

(1) While on the scanning screen, look for the voice control icon to activate this feature.

The icon for enabling voice control depends on the app you're using. Either way, it will appear in the scanning screen The icon for enabling voice control depends on the app you're using. Either way, it will appear in the scanning screen

(2) Once you tap the voice control icon, the app will ask you to allow access to your device's Microphone, and Speech Recognition. Voice control will not be possible without these two accesses.

After allowing access to these two options, you'll be ready to scan hands-free! Simply say 'Go’ next time you're ready to scan and the app will take a scan shot for you.

Please note: this feature is currently available only for iOS.
