Sometimes, you just have to get creative with the resources available. No makeup? No problem. Simply grab some markers and apply - just pray they're not permanent.

Family farm fun
"(The photo) is of my Grandmother, Minnie Helen Weeks (Ferguson) and her brother Elmer Weeks. We approximate that it was taken in 1915 when she was 14 and he was 10. The location is in front of the new home my great grandfather built on their family farm, just west of Hoxie, Sheridan County, Kansas. We are not sure who took the photo but the local historical society in Hoxie attributes a lot of "professional" photographs of the time to a gentleman by the last name of Long. In 1934 Minnie, her husband, and her son's moved to Colorado to escape the Dust Bowl."

Through the looking glass - the sextant
Heading on a nautical adventure anytime soon? Don't forget your sextant or you'll miss your chance to measure the angular distance between two objects! Practically speaking, a sextant helps determine latitude and longitude, a fun activity for the whole family 😉.
