Labor Day & Royal Play
What is more exciting than rewinding time and taking a look at how we got to where we are today?
On this day
Hurray for Labor Day
Love weekends? Grateful for an 8-hour workday? You're not alone. Before you start up the grill or enjoy great sales, remember that Labor Day celebrates the movement which brought rights to the workers and protected them from unfair practices. Then, go ahead and enjoy a parade like this collection of VIPs.

The divine one

Fountain of youth
This photo was taken in the summer of 1958. It is my mother Margaret Grieve, and myself at 3-years-old. It was taken by my father Alfred grieve. We had just recently immigrated to the US from Scotland, and my mother was expecting my younger sister. We lived in Detroit and often went to Belle Isle to spend a Sunday afternoon.
