Today in the United States there is an unmistakable sense of joy and pride in honor of July 4th, Independence Day. In honor of America’s 247th birthday, the Fourth of July is a day filled with exuberant festivities, a testament to the enduring spirit of freedom and unity. Families and friends gather together, fireworks illuminate the night sky, and the cheerful sounds of laughter and music fill the air. Barbecues and picnics are plentiful, with delicious food and drinks shared amongst loved ones. July 4th is also a time for reflection, gratitude, and the acknowledgment of the sacrifices made by those who fought for independence.
But the U.S. isn’t the only country celebrating an indpendence day in July! Canada Day, which marks Canada’s independence in 1867 was on Saturday, July 1st. Countries like Algeria, Belgium, Burundi, Columbia, Malawi, Liberia, Peru, and more also celebrate their independence this month. So here’s to Independence Days, in the United States and beyond. Happy July 4th!
