All named are 2nd family of Great Grandpa James Lannen, after 1st wife Bridget Mullins died when Grandpa (James (Jr)) was about 9. He re-married Joanna Madden (Dad knew as Grandma Lannen). She ran pub until 1930’s when offered it to Grandpa (James Lannen) who declined and it then went Grandpa’s brother Jack Lannen. Jacks daughter Mary Widdicom (nee:Lannen), ran pub until it was sold out of the family about mid 1970’s. Grandpa never forgave Joanne Lannen (nee:Madden) for appearing to being behind him being accepted, then smartly discharged after both Joanne and James wrote letters protesting his recruitment at aged 18 as he was 1 year into pharmacy studies. The truth is that his father James was likely an equal driving force.
