Momma Mary in the 1920s

James Laurie (my grandfather) at an unknown wedding, is kneeling on the left of the photo in his highland uniform. It’s such a shame we know nothing about the occasion or the other people. I think Bonella, James wife, is standing behind him. It’s unusual that the couple just married are seated rather than standing, and I’m thinking that the groom had been injured in the war. Dating this to post 1914

Your Paternal (male line) Great Great (2X) Grandparents George ‘Nelson’ Joyce and Harriet (born Strickland) Joyce of Victoria BC marry in Summer of 1910 in Harriet’s cousins’ garden - the Billard family’s House on Davie St. Victoria. They lived over a block and were all from Newfoundland, Canada’s most Eastern Maritime Province.
